Crassula pyramidalis is an admired small succulent growing also in the Little Karoo. Often sheltering under taller vegetation, it can flourish in exposed conditions, more when conditions are mild.
The white dome-shapes of densely clustered stem-tip inflorescences open concurrently on a stem, here simultaneously on several stems of the same plant. The brief but intense floral display is likely to result in maximal visibility, attracting all-comer or generalist small insect pollinators over a short period of optimal conditions (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok 2015; iNaturalist).
