The inflorescences of these Aloe striata plants seen in October near Barrydale are more orange-red in colour than sometimes seen. The panicles are branched repeatedly in a corymb structure presenting many flowers simultaneously.
These plants grow in deep loamy soil at the foot of a hill. Often scattered in the veld, they may produce large stands that make quite an impression in full bloom. Unfortunately, such dense stands often tell secrets about past overgrazing of the land (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; iNaturalist).
