Montinia caryophyllacea, the peperbos

Etched against the backdrop of the Maskam Mountain in the south of Namaqualand, these upper branches of a female Montinia caryophyllacea bush show erect fruits and leaves mainly ascending (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Mannheimer and Curtis (Eds.), 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
