Agathosma ovata also grows in the Langkloof. It prefers rocky outcrops covered in several types of fynbos.
The leaves of this plant are not as markedly fragrant as those of some other Agathosma species, such as A. crenulata or A. betulina.
Spreading bushes of about 50 cm are more common than ones exceeding 2 m in height.
The plant in picture has dark green, hairy leaves that curve under strongly along their lateral margins. Older stems are blackish, younger ones somewhat red, as are some pedicels. White is only contributed by petals, on their outsides by buds and their insides in open flowers. The styles of old flowers, now lacking corollas, appear longer than those still bearing anthers.
