    On the lower surfaces the Trametes versicolor or turkey tail caps are white, until they age beyond a certain point.

    The margins differ in waviness or scalloping, the occasional major deviation probably ascribable to damage from an external source.

    Although the ranks in picture are long, they do not always conform to the straight-line format sometimes seen (iNaturalist; www.mushroomexpert.com; Wikipedia).
