Montane grassland of the southern Drakensberg is home to Disa stricta. It rains here in summer, snows in winter and the dry grass often burns. These tuberous perennials sprout afresh annually on the grassy slopes, not bothered by winter fire in the dry grass.
The erect stems are taller than the narrow leaves (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
