Montane grassland of the Drakensberg is home to Disa dracomontana. It rains here in summer, snows in winter and the dry grass often burns. These tuberous perennials sprout afresh annually on the grassy slopes, not bothered by fire. The stems are basally leaf-sheathed, the sheaths glassy translucent (iNaturalist; https://www.selinawamucii.com; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
