Euryops tysonii grew as circumstances allowed

One or few long, singular branches grew erectly from this Euryops tysonii base long ago. When competition overcrowds the local scene, there is no time to waste. The sun must be seen, and soon!

Once that goal is achieved, branching to multiply flowerhead production can take over in achieving a normal, happy plant life. Need gratification can be postponed in favour of any urgent objectives prerequisite to the important ones, even in the brainless divisions of earthly life. Both the epicureans and the stoics mastered this principle long ago, but not before the plants did (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
