Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla

This unevenly curved Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla inflorescence has a sturdy, cylindrical flowering stem. The stem has a surface covering of tiny white hairs, faintly velvety.

The elliptic leaves spread in a green rosette flat on the ground. Flowers appear from near ground level in opposite, short-stalked clusters, spaced more widely low down than near the tip. The flowers grow in tight, opposite clusters, green but soon with cream tips as the corollas emerge.

The plant grows in a stand of grey Pteronia bushes on a slope in the Biedouw Valley (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
