Yellow spring flowers of Euryops speciosissimus are seen in the Biedouw Valley and more widely in the drier west of the country.

The heads are raised on their long stalks above the fine green foliage. The leaves are greener than many of the other species in this vegetation, while yellow is one of the common flower colours in the memorable bloomtime of the region.

Fast growth and large flowerheads characterise this plant, making it worthwhile having in the garden where conditions allow (Manning, 2009; www.plantzafrica.com).
