A spring stand of Helichrysum moeserianum blooming on disturbed land brings joy to flower tourists and food to insects.

Next year will be different, but how? Flower gazers may be disappointed if the pageant is scanty, while a more diverse ground-cover of foliage all sorts will leave fewer stones baking under the sun. Every outcome has its merit from some point of view. When there is nobody with a point of view or a value system, what is simply is.

Precisely like this it will never be again, although the locals will (almost) always continue to recognise their world, irrespective of the ongoing changes in nature. The constant flow in ecological becoming of all features of the terrain cause fluctuations in wellbeing of the live inhabitants. (Are there any others?) Add the lists of all other inhabitants that might eat everyone edible and the challenge of what has to be adapted to for survival is clear for all participants.
