Aizoon glinoides sprawls in full sun, covering small patches of bare, clayey ground in the southeast of the country, also here in the Kouga.

Flowers are usually expected in spring and summer, but this one managed some in May after rain. Lots of dead leaves and visible prostrate stems tell of recent dry times, forgotten now as vigorous stem-tip growth is not yet successful in covering the ground claimed by the plant in the past (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
