Arctotheca populifolia leaf veins and ageing

The Arctotheca populifolia leaf shows its midrib and two pairs of lateral veins through the felt covering.
Old leaves may lose part of this covering, even before they become discoloured with age (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Mustart, et al, 1997; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist).
