    Many feet ensure that vegetation has no chance where thirsty game walk next to a major drinking hole. Visibility saves lives in the wild, after all! A little further away, those that converge on the water all deposit ample faeces as fertiliser and make the plants grow, in compensation.

    Life is transactional: living species are interdependent with no awareness of the complex relationships that sustain them. People have been unique in dealing with this on earth. They revel in unravelling the intricacies, trying to understand things in ever increasing detail. Knowledge accumulation and sharing facilitates this. Maybe understanding will one day bring more caring. Primordial life is a keynote in humanitys scientific endeavours.

    And for their leisure they come here on occasional visits, reflecting on their own primitive beginnings. Trying to grasp the elusive wisp of memory that links them. It proves too hard for recall, but there is something...
