The corona of the Huernia verekeri flower is positioned in the centre of the pale, nearly white base of the corolla tube, which looks more like a shallow bowl.
The outer corona is a domed disc, 3 mm wide, its five ivory to creamy white lobes in picture just about fully fused into one. The inner corona has its five distinct, club-shaped lobes over the anthers. The pollinia visible between the inner corona lobes are yellow-brown.
In the photo fine stubbly hairs, mostly dark, some possibly purple or maroon, are scattered on the spreading corolla lobes and on the corolla surface outside the ring around the corolla tube (iSpot; www.llifle.com).
