Seen from behind, the flower of Huttonaea oreophila presents a less noticed view of its fleshy white and pale green parts. The pale margin of the bract folds around the bulge of the green ovary base. The tip of the bract may be the noose-like band wrapped around the ovary higher up.

The small dorsal sepal with serrated margin is strongly flexed down, flanked by the curved blades of the two larger lateral sepals. Above them one sees the back view of the lateral petals positioned at the top of the flower. Some lip parts protrude from the sides of the ovary, below the sepals (www.africanorchids.dk; www.orchidspecies.com).
