The Haworthiopsis reinwardtii var. reinwardtii leaves seen here curve in strongly near their tips, otherwise ascend with little spread.

The white tubercles on the outside, convex leaf surfaces only, are dots or small oblongs positioned horizontally along the leaves, protruding slightly and causing the surfaces to be rough. Some tubercles are positioned in vertical columns while others are more clearly arranged in transversal rows; few being aligned orderly in both directions.

The old leaves are red, particularly near their tips. Young ones are a delicate yellow-green, particularly on the inside, the darker colouring appearing earlier on the more exposed surfaces.
