Helichrysum species at Prince Albert

Several Helichrysum species have been called kooigoed or bedding, including H. crispum and H. moeserianum. Apart from providing quite a soft bed if a sufficient quantity of the soft stems and foliage is used, the spiders and insects generally agree to sleep elsewhere.

Helichrysum plants are widely used in traditional medicine, among other things for high blood pressure.
