Helichrysum revolutum

The flowerheads of Helichrysum revolutum grow in dense, flat-topped clusters. Each flowerhead comprises a compact bunch of tiny disc flowers, dull yellow to dark yellow in colour. Also the generally straw-coloured involucral bracts surrounding the discs show some colour variations across the plant’s distribution area. The multiple rows of involucral bracts create a bell-shaped form for the flowerhead below the flat disc top. The involucral bracts do not spread and the top row is level with the florets.

Flowering happens from midwinter to spring (Manning, 2007; JSTOR; iSpot).
