Helichrysum teretifolium, sometimes commonly called the needle everlasting, is a much branched, densely leafy shrublet reaching 30 cm to 50 cm in height.

The species distribution of this South African endemic lies in a coastal belt from the Cape Peninsula and Piketberg in the Western Cape through the Eastern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal.

The habitat is diverse over the large distribution, ranging from sandy flats, dunes and mountain slopes. The vegetation here includes Albany thicket, fynbos and grassland. The plants often form dense stands. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; iSpot; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
