Some green Hemimeris racemosa calyces that have lost their corollas display angular pedicels with maroon accentuation along the (four) ridges.

The calyx is bell-shaped, its lobes lance-shaped with acutely pointed tips. These calyces within which the ovaries morph into nearly globular fruit capsules, are hardly seen while the yellow corollas preside.

Slight red markings are present on one corolla in picture, this time on the lower lip as well (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
