Haworthia herbacea var. paynei

Haworthia herbacea var. paynei is a dwarf leaf succulent that grows stemless. The plant is less inclined to clump than the other varieties of H. herbacea; it is also smaller. The flowers of H. herbacea var. paynei are bicoloured, pink above and white below.

The distribution of the variety is small, in the Western Cape near McGregor, to the southeast of where the other two varieties of H. herbacea grow. The habitat is shale ground, the plants found under renosterbos and other shrubs or exposed in rock crevices.
