Haworthia variegata var. variegata

Haworthia variegata var. variegata is a stemless leaf succulent bearing its leaves in a ground-level rosette. It clumps readily.

The leaves are long, erect to ascending and slender, tapering to acute tips. There are tiny whitish spines on the margins and keel. Leaf colour is dark green to fresh green and strongly variegated in white dots.

The tall inflorescence consists of one raceme of spirally arranged white flowers.

The distribution ranges from Bredasdorp to Riversdale and Stilbaai. The plant’s habitat is fynbos in shallow soils on limestone. The variety is thought to be endangered in its habitat early in the twenty first century (http://haworthiaupdates.org; www.redlist.sanbi.org).
