    The hairy calyx of the Hermannia cristata flower nods from the long pedicel that is equally hairy. The hairs in picture appear glandular.

    The calyx is cup-shaped, ending in five pronounced, acutely pointed lobes. The calyx surface is brownish, faintly ridged along the seams of the lobes; the segments about 15 mm long (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist).
