The old Hermannia pulverata flowers fade to dull orange or reddish.

The hairy, green bracts at the pedicel bases are triangular and acutely point. Similarly shaped, bigger bracts are present at the peduncle bases.

On the flowers in picture the coarsely hairy and wrinkled calyces are dull purplish red with whitish hairs, the smooth corollas dark yellow-orange with orange to red or purplish red margins and dark veins (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; JSTOR; iNaturalist).
