The leaves of Hermannia cuneifolia are greyer or greener and variably hairy across the natural distribution of the species. Leaf hairiness is variable; the hairs may be branched and star-like, grey to whitish, sometimes shiny. Leaf blades may be granular in texture or mottled.

The leaves are wedge-shaped as the specific name, cuneifolia, a Latin word, indicates. The leaf margins are variably toothed, sometimes scalloped along their upper margins, the broad end of the wedge. Leaf midribs are prominent on the lower surfaces, as are a few ascending lateral veins, sunken on the upper surfaces.

Leaf dimensions are about 10 mm long and 5 mm wide, in some regions about double that (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
