First fruits are starting to leave this Bolandia pinnatifida flowerhead that still has lots of flowering to do. The narrow fruit has some long hairy attachments, equipped and prepared for wind dispersal. Whether the situation is natural or caused by some intervention, e.g. disruption inflicted by a pollinator, is unknown.

A second feature of interest in this photo is the pink colouring of some floret parts. This is seen in one half of one head only. Heads with pink-purple or partial deep-purple are also seen, possibly sometimes only on filaments (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
