Dianthus zeyheri flower

The flowers of Dianthus zeyheri grow long-stalked in wand-like clusters of up to about seven, occasionally unbranched, solitary. The calyx is narrow and cylindrical, from 3 cm to 4,5 cm long.

The five spreading petal lobes are pink in various shades to white. They mostly have fringed tips that are pointed, rounded or flat (square). The fringe in picture is typical, uneven to ragged. The stamens have white filaments and oblong pale brown anthers. Dianthus flowers have ten stamens. There are two styles, longer than the superior ovary. The flower diameter is up to 5 cm.
