Zantedeschia aethiopica leaves

The leaves of Zantedeschia aethiopica grow from the rhizomatous plant base on long, erect, spongy petioles in something of a rosette. They may be evergreen or deciduous depending on the living conditions of the widely adapted plants. Two or three awl-shaped cataphylls are also present.

The big blades may curve in variably along their substantial midribs, the dark green surfaces smooth and wavy. Lateral veins spread visibly to the margins, ascending slightly. The leaf margins are entire. Leaf dimensions are from 15 cm to 20 cm long and from 10 cm to 15 cm wide (Manning, 2009; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998; Mason and Du Plessis, 1972; Letty, 1962; iNaturalist).
