Pseudoselago spuria, the lilac powderpuff or in Afrikaans bergaarbossie (little mountain vein bush(!)), is a perennial with thin, stiff and sturdy stems that branch at the base or higher up. The plant grows to 75 cm in height and is sparsely hairy.
The species distribution around False Bay continues northwards to around Tulbagh and eastwards near the coast to the De Hoop Reserve.
The habitat is slopes and flats in fynbos. The species is not threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iSpot; Andrew, 2012; www.redlist.sanbi.org).
