Coleus venteri leaves

The opposite leaves of Coleus venteri, previously Plectranthus venteri, grow on long, soft, hairy stalks.

The rounded lobes of the leaves resemble those of Quercus robur, the English oak in shape. The softly textured and aromatic leaves are, however, very different from oak leaves, pelted as they are from hairs and yielding bulges between lateral and net-veining. The veins don’t quite reach the wavy margins that are slightly rolled under.
