Radyera urens branch

Radyera urens branches spread flat on the ground as in the photo. They are thick and sturdy. General hairiness prevails. The branches may become 30 cm long.

Being long-stalked, the leaves stand taller from the stems than the flowers, shading them. There are small stipules next to the leaf stalk bases on the stem.

The flowers of each axillary cluster do not all open at the same time, roughly go in sequence. The petals in picture are browner than red (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist).
