The yellow flowerheads of Bertilia hantamensis grow solitary in a large, loose panicle on peduncles varying from 4,5 cm to 17,5 cm in length. One row of oblong to ovate bracts form the bell-shaped, green involucre below the yellow rays. The bract margins are membranous, thin and dry.

Few round-tipped ray florets spread and curve down around the base of a shallow dome of densely clustered disc florets. The female rays grow in a single, sparse ring, resembling the spokes of wheel that has lost its rim and tyre. The fertile disc florets have narrow corona lobes and conical tips to their style branches.

Flowering happens in spring (Cron, GV, 2013: A New Monotypic Genus in the Senecioneae (Asteraceae) in SA. SA Journal of Botany, Vol 88, pp 10 – 16; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
