The simple leaves of Asystasia gangetica subsp. micrantha are opposite on petioles of variable length.

The ovate blades taper and sometimes also attenuate to acutely pointed tips. The leaf margins are entire. The dark green to bright green blades are hairless and slightly glossy. Lateral veins ascend from the midrib, curving in near the margin to join the next higher one. Leaves become 4 cm long and 2 cm wide (Pooley, 1998; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
