Nelia pillansii, previously scientifically N. meyeri, is a clump-forming dwarf perennial, a leaf succulent reaching heights to about 10 cm.

The species distribution is small, the species endemic to the far northwest Richtersveld region of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape.

The habitat is coastal loamy plains of succulent Karoo and dry shrubland, also some quartzitic mountain slopes to the east. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Frandsen, 2017; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
