Green sepals of Stoeberia frutescens buds and flowers are seen converging and spreading in the photo respectively. Some of the pointed, succulent sepals visible are red-tipped. Sharply edged leaf keels or bract keels are present. So is some dark, leaf surface mottling, appearing like translucent spots scattered upon the leaves but absent from the stems and sepals.

Stem and stalk colouring tends to yellowish green, even slightly orange, compared to the moderately dark green of the leaves (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Smith, et al, 1998; Herre, 1971; iNaturalist).
