Bartholina etheliae leaf

The single green leaf of Bartholina etheliae is draped on the ground like a circular cloth. From near its centre the flower stalk rises erectly, dark purplish and sparsely covered in downy white hairs. The leaf hairs are not as easy to see here.

In plants where the leaf is circular rather than clearly heart-shaped, the base is usually still lobed somewhat heart-shaped; not clear in the photo (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
