Ansellia africana pale markings

In this Ansellia africana flower the blotches on the corolla (not appearing upon the lip), are pale and of sizes different to sometimes seen. The sepal and lateral petal shape is comparatively longer and narrower, their margins not as smooth as is common.

The bright yellow flower lip presents a view of its raised crest and wavy margins.

Flowering of A. africana happens in winter and spring, peaking at the start of spring; blooming may last for several weeks.
