Thesium euphorbioides flowers

The flowers of Thesium euphorbioides grow in small, few-flowered cymes arranged in head-like clusters at stem tips. The small flowers (3 mm in diameter) are pale cream, subtended by broad, yellowish, leaf-like bracts.

Some greenish buds are visible here, their lobes still cohering. These five triangular lobes are almost white on their inside surfaces in the open flowers. The species lacks the bearded appendages found on many Thesium flower lobes.

Flowering starts in late winter, continuing until midsummer (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
