Lachnaea eriocephala flowering

A flowering Lachnaea eriocephala shrublet is topped by compact flowerheads at the tips of the erect stems. The heads are from 2,5 cm to 4,5 cm in diameter. Flowering happens from before midwinter to spring.

The generic name, Lachnaea, is derived from the Greek word lachne meaning woolly, referring to the woolly inflorescences of several of the species (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
