Lebeckia pauciflora

Lebeckia pauciflora is a slender, many-stemmed shrub that grows to heights from 30 cm to 80 cm. It may be more than twice as wide than it is tall. Single-stemmed, this plant does not resprout after fire, but young plants may flower abundantly in the first season after a fire.

The simple leaves are long and needle-like. They are jointed or articulated, bluish grey in colour.

This widespread species grows on sandy Western Cape fynbos slopes from Piketberg to the Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains. The plant is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Manning, 2007).
