Rosenia humilis flowerhead

The flowerheads of Rosenia humilis have yellow ray and disc florets. They are enveloped by a golden brown, cup-shaped involucre comprised of a few rows of bracts. The outer bracts are ovate, the inner ones oblong. These flowerhead bracts are sticky in the early stages of flowering.

The ray florets are elliptic, two longitudinal folds along their perianth surfaces. A honeycomb structure is visible among the unopened disc florets in the flowerhead of the photo. A flowerhead becomes about 2 cm in diameter.
