The leaves of Saltera sarcocolla form four neat vertical ranks on the sparsely branched stems. The leaves are opposite and slightly overlapping, decussately arranged up the stems. The oval to diamond-shaped leaves have obtusely angled tips.
The dull green leaf colour is replaced by yellow in new growth. Leaves are covered in a waxy bloom.
This plant was seen in March near Kleinmond (Bean and Johns, 2005; Manning, 2007; www.plantzafrica.com).
