Centella difformis leaf

The leaf of Centella difformis may have an entire margin or three to five acutely pointed lobes or teeth in its upper section. Whitish veins spread from the base across the hairy pale green blade into the pointy red tips in the photo.

The leaves have sturdy, long petioles that often hold them markedly erectly. Upper leaves tend to be smaller than basal ones.

The specific name, difformis, comes from the Latin dif meaning unlike and forma meaning form or shape; probably referring to the dimorphic leaves present in two distinctly different shapes (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Andrew, 2012; JSTOR).
