    The yellow button-like flowerheads of Pentzia incana resemble those of the herb genera Oncosiphon (annuals) and Cotula. Pentzia plants are shrubs.

    Flowerheads grow solitary at stem tips well above the leaves on long, longitudinally furrowed stalks. The flowerhead disc is somewhat flat, curving down at its perimeter in a rounded mound-shape. About three rows of fleshy, grey-green and narrow bracts subtend the flowerhead below. Flowerheads turn brown at the end of their season (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
