    Is it age or a health problem? Heterorhachis aculeata leaf lobes often so straight, may become surprisingly curly as seen here.

    Whether fading from thirst, affected by some affliction or clowning about as may be normal for them in some natural life phase, they still display some characteristic leaf features: fine whitish hairs, dark green surfaces, thickness in their lower parts, channelling of spine bases and more spined lobes positioned lower down on the leaves (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
