Blepharis furcata leaves

The opposite leaves of Blepharis furcata are sessile (stalkless) or very short-stalked. There are spines in the leaf axils, to become the basal bracts of future leaves.

The leaves are hairless, lance-shaped to linear. The margins are rolled under a few spine-tipped teeth spaced along them. The midrib is prominent on the lower surface, slightly sunken above. The leaves may curve up to their tips as they do in picture.

Leaf dimensions are about 2,5 cm to 3,7 cm long by 2 mm to 5 mm wide (iNaturalist; JSTOR).
