The flowers of Augea capensis grow in clusters from leaf axils. They are nearly white, tinged green. There are five succulent petal lobes with acutely angled tips above the basal cup of each flower. Flowering occurs in spring and summer.
The fruits, sometimes mistaken for leaves in the early stages of their development, are ribbed and barrel-shaped, initially greener than the leaves. They taper to their tips where the styles persist as they ripen. A fruit becomes about 2 cm long and turns yellow when ripe (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iSpot).
