The flowers of Lavrania haagnerae usually grow nearly stalkless from around the stem base. From one to five inflorescences may appear per stem, each comprising a cluster of three to fifteen flowers, opening successively.
The striped, silvery buds still to open can be seen in the photo among the open flowers.
Corolla colour, typically red spots on a yellow background, varies from finely spotted flowers that are almost yellow or “dusted with red” to ones with conspicuous, scattered red spots as in the photo.
The photo was taken in June (SP Bester (2009): Lavrania haagnerae. Flowering Plants of Africa, vol.61, pp. 98–106; iSpot).
