Kewa salsoloides buds and their stalks have purplish warty knobs appearing strewn along their pale surfaces. Some of the nearly closed calyces may be old flowers that have closed again, not very neat at re-furling their petals again before doing so.
Some short, narrow bracts are present at the base of the umbel where the pedicels of the flowers emerge. Flowers are elevated well above the cylindrical leaves below (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
