Karomia speciosa forma speciosa, the wild parasol flower or southern Chinese hats bears axillary and stem-tip flowers, The flowers may appear solitary or in small clusters or sprays. The corolla is bright blue with a five-lobed lip, positioned on a saucer-shaped, shallowly five-lobed calyx that is mauve to pink. Flowering happens from spring to autumn.
